Great for the budding digital artist!

I bought the Samsung Tab A 10.1 with S pen specifically for drawing. I love it! The S pen is fantastic and feels almost as good as using pencil on paper. I love that I can get the detail in my drawings that I would normally get on paper but without all the extra bits and pieces that need to be carried around with my sketch book. It's only been a couple of weeks since I got it and so am still learning all the ins and outs of the app that I use but am very impressed with how the Tab A handles the work. Most of the reviews that I read about the S pen say that they have ended up buying a Wacom pen as the S pen that comes with the Tab is very small. I find that an advantage as I am someone who uses very fine pens to do a lot of my work, so using a small pen like this is perfect for me. The battery life is quite good as I can get a good couple of hours drawing out of it and while that doesn't sound like much I think it's great since I am using the screen on a fairly bright setting and am constantly zooming in and out, turning my work around and changing brushes and other settings. I am finding the screen quality is excellent for what I need. It gives a crisp and clear image. I love having the 16GB built in and have also added 128GB micro SD, so I have lots of space to run the apps and have heaps of storage for high quality images. Using the charger that comes with it allows me to charge it very quickly. There is very little if no lag at all. Light weight and convenient to carry with me wherever I go. Connectivity is great as well and it's very user friendly with not too much bloatware. The only thing I wish it had was the availability to move apps to the SD card but it seems Samsung has removed that feature on a few of their devices now. As you can see I haven't had much chance to try much else with it but like I said I bought it specifically for drawing. I find that the value of this is fantastic for someone who is wanting to try their hand at digital art but not wanting to spend a fortune. So far I am very impressed and would recommend it to anyone, even if you aren't a budding artist.

Great Day-to-Day Tablet with Pen Drawing

We now have two of these in our household. Battery life has been spectacular on ours. One was barely used before we bought it, and battery lasts for weeks at a time (use it for around 1 hour per day). The other we don't know how it was used before we bought, and battery still lasts for around a week or so with light use. The pen works great and is very handy to have. The kids love using it to color pictures on the PenUp app that comes with the tablet. The Samsung Notes app has superior handwriting quality and makes it fun to take notes because the drawing looks so good. It's not the most powerful tablet in the world, but works wonderfully for normal, day-to-day tasks and notetaking. The only slight gripe is that it is super easy to accidentally tap the buttons at the bottom of the tablet. I'm constantly switching apps or hitting the back button without wanting to because it senses presses all the way to the bottom of the tablet. But I can live with it for all the rest I get.

Good tablet but don't expect it to be an newer ipad

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019 version) is a good tablet especially if you buy one on the used market. It has a quality feel, good screen, pretty good battery life, and is pretty snappy, smooth, and responsive. Has no problems with streaming and media consumption. I'm not sure about processor intensive games as I am not a gamer and my children don't play these games (yet). But for games my kids play, it had no problems. UI is nice and clean, and though it has the usual Samsung apps (that we don't use), they're not intrusive at all. I gave it four stars mainly because I do wish it had DEX built in and I still haven't figured out whether you can mirror the tablet to a larger screen from the USB C port. I'm also not an artist, but from what I read this does not support most pen options. But otherwise a good tablet and am very happy with it. This is a good tablet option for general consumption, but don't expect it to be an ipad.

    Everything I expected

I received a BLU phone with Marshmallow and liked it. So I bought a tablet with Marshmallow. This is a good, solid machine. The battery life is very good as long as you don't run the screen at full brightness. I use this in full sun, so need the screen to be as bright as possible. The battery life is cut in half at full brigtness. But if you can use it at half brightness or less, you will find the unit runs a very long time between charges (couple of days without charging). Pros: It is fast! The screen viewing angle is good, but not quite as good as Lenovo; Decent weight; Battery life is very good - unless you turn the screen up to full brightness. Cons: Speaker is very weak compared to Lenovo. Monoral rather than stereo and mounted on the side rather than front-facing. To work around this I use a BlueTooth speaker when showing videos; Bloatware; Hard to root (but can be done). In all, a good experience.

Great, high quality, value tablet, with some minor ergonomics flaws. Good buy!

Great quality feel, great battery life, nice screen. Couple of negatives - there is very little case space to hold the tablet without activating either the "back" or "Open Apps" touch points, or the volume buttons inadvertently. I've found that I prefer to turn the tablet upside-down when in portrait mode, or with the buttons on the left side facing upwards when in landscape mode, to keep from hitting them by mistake while holding the screen. Finally, the screen is sometimes not that responsive to tocuh when paying video - for example, if I want to pause or stop a Youtube, it is often unresponsive to jabs on the screen! But, overall, it feels like a high quality tablet and I'm very happy with it. I would buy it again.

Almost had to toss but worked it out.

First, the pad arrived in great shape, and was extremely well wrapped in bubble wrap. It was in mint condition as advertised and worked well for about 3-4 days then the screen got weird/fuzzy when coming out of sleep mode. I re-installed the os, and the same thng happened. I found the issue was apps can show notifications on the home screen and apparently when that was happening there was a conflict with one of them. I disabled this feature for now, and it has worked great ever since. Recommend a grippable cover if you want to hold it in your hands as the case is slippery but is lightweight. Nice pad for the price, and runs the newest adroid OS - yes- you can delete and backspace!!

    Good quality tablet

I needed to update my tablet, found this online for good sale price for last year's model (2019). It is much faster than my old Samsung Tab A, was easy to set up by connecting to my old Samsung tablet, & has been working just fine. Overall impressed, but battery isn't lasting quite as long as I hoped for. It seems to keep a good charge, but is losing battery faster than I figured it would while playing my game. However, I use it at home & have a good charging cord, so it's just fine for me. I'd recommend this tablet if you are like me, just want to play games, look around the internet, listen to music.

Does everything a laptop can do, but is more portable and lasts longer on a charge.

A great tablet for doing email;surfing the web and skyping with friends. It is good size for viewing and for portability. I also watch a lot of movies on it when I relax on my outside deck, so it is very convenient to take anywhere. Battery life is very good and now that I added a bluetooth keyboard it is basically a small laptop. I only gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5, because it is my first tablet and I really have nothing to compare it to, but I have not been disappointed by it and continue to use it daily..

    Great Tablet

I bought this to replace a Samsung Note 10.1" from 2014 that still works besides the battery dying very quickly when it's not left on charge... unless I'm playing Netflix. Weird. It works as expected and even better. I've used the Smart View feature to mirror IG Verzuz and other lives (Anthony Hamilton's concerts, Mike Epps rollerskating in his basement, Deon Cole DJing) on my TV and it's much more seamless than my old tablet. I look forward to traveling and taking this with me through long layovers and flight times, and use as my TV when I'm deployed.

    love my tab a

my tab a replaces my tab s2 which had the design flaw that is well known wherein the screen would just go black . also it was limited by inability to update android and lots of webpages that did not display correctly. i'll keep it as an ereader and to throw in my purse to go to coffee shop. my tab a is the 10.1 in so bigger and heavier and better functionality. i got it as a travel computer so i can leave my macbook at home. so far i just love everything about it.
