Valentino Garavani is known for his red carpet gowns, but when co-creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli took the lead at the label, there was a new focus on accessories. One runaway hit? That'd be the Valentino sandal. Embellished with the brand's signature spikes, ladylike styles get a bit of edge. Even now that Piccioli's flying solo, the spikes are staying, making themselves known on gladiators, flatforms and even flip flops done up with bows and bold, bright hues. Classic shades of black, nude, and blush are Insta-ready and a street style staple, but with bold colors on offer every season and a few twists now and then with exotic leathers, there's no resting on the past. Valentino himself knew that and so does Piccioli.
