• Turn off the engine, disconnect the battery, and open the tailgate.
• Pick a side to start with and remove the two screws securing the assembly in place.
• Pull the assembly away from the vehicle and disconnect the electrical harness. Discard the old assembly.
• Position the new assembly into place and connect the electrical harness. Push the new assembly into the cavity and secure it with the two screws.
• Repeat these steps for the other side, reconnect the battery, and test the taillights to complete installation.

Also called the center high mount stop-light, the 3rd brake light is a critical component of your Silverado. Sometimes drivers of tall vehicles like semi-trucks are unable to see your taillights, so it’s important to make sure your high mount stop-light is in perfect working order. It’s easy to replace this part, and installation takes about 30 minutes.

• Turn off the engine, disconnect the battery, and step inside the bed of the truck.
• Remove the two screws on either side of the 3rd brake light assembly.
• Pull the assembly away from the vehicle and disconnect the electrical wiring. Discard the old assembly.
• Connect the electrical wiring to the new assembly and position the new assembly into place.
• Secure the new assembly with the two screws and test the high mount stop-light to complete installation.
