Ford Mustang Cup Holder
The Mustang is a sports car designed by Ford suitable for those who like driving at fast speeds. With one or more cup holders, you can keep drinks nearby as you rev the engine without the liquids spilling over. Ford makes a number of compatible models that work in different vehicles.
What parts do you need?You can start with a simple look at some of the different parts that your Mustang might need. One of those parts is an insert, which some call a liner. Designed to fit inside the holder in your car, it lifts the height of this piece and provides a little more stability. The next part that you might need is a waterproofing liner. Often made from black plastic, this liner covers the inside of the holder and keeps moisture from damaging the engine and other parts of the car. You may need one or both of these parts.
Are all designs compatible with all Fords?Whether you drive a base model or a Mustang GT, youll find that these designs are compatible across most vehicles. Ford makes products that fit with and work inside most of their top designs. You should keep in mind that the designs used in SUVs and pickup trucks may be slightly larger than what you need. One designed for the Expedition or the Explorer likely will not fit in your Ford Mustang.
What is a center design?An individual cup model is one that will only hold a single cup, and those designed for the center console have two individual slots or spaces inside. This gives you room for your own cup as well as room for your passenger. Many can accommodate the cups used by restaurants as well as bottled water and canned drinks.
Are there any matching accessories?Ford Mustang cup holders will work with some matching accessories, too. You can find accessories for a convertible or a GT Ford Mustang.
- Pad: Adding a pad to the base is a good way to keep water and other liquids from damaging your vehicle. These pads absorb condensation or some of the drink in the event of a spill and are removable for fast cleaning.
- Lighted mat: Aftermarket parts manufacturers now make lighted mats that work like pads too. These may come with the Mustang logo on the top or another fun design. Some even have solar lights that charge when exposed to the sun. The lights come on to help you locate the cup holder better in the dark.
- Ashtray: Newer Ford Mustangs lack the ashtrays used in previous editions. You can purchase an ashtray designed to take over one of the spots you would use for a cup. Some have a lid on top that actually snaps down to keep cigarette butts and ashes from accidentally scattering inside your car.
