Therefore, you can expect a 3.0 GHz chip to process faster than a 2.0 GHz model. For optimal computing performance, you'll need to get the highest amount of GHz regardless of the CPU brand.

Hard drive sizes vary greatly. Some of the common sizes in past generations are 160GB, 250GB, and 500GB. Other hard drive sizes may include 1TB and 2TB capacities. To put the size in perspective, a PC running Windows will need use up to 20GB for the operating system alone. A program like Microsoft Office will use 3GB of space. You will need to make sure your hard drive has enough space for photos, videos, games, and other programs.
