Coats Tire Changers and Wheel Balancers

Coats is among the most recognizable aftermarket wheel equipment names. They keep the auto world supplied with a full line of quality equipment and parts. Two of Coats product lines are the tire changer and wheel balancer. Both are necessary additions to an automotive repair shop.

What types of tire changers does Coats manufacture?

Coats offers four categories of tire-changing equipment, which are the following:

1. Cars and light trucks:
  • X-Series: Two-speed motor adjustable rim/clamp model, direct oil injection, robotic arm, and hand bead loosener
  • GTS Series: Tilt-back changer, 6-24-inch diameter capability, automated rim-protection tower with extra grip protection, single-point air sealer, bead loosening hand actuator, duckhead mount/demount tool, upgradeable; GTS 60 and 70 models have air reservoir and roller power disk bead loosener (bottom bead removal/top bead mounting), GTS 70 robotic arm for bead lock
  • RC Series: Compact machine, one horsepower rim/clamp tire changer, turntable support, foot pedal controls, swing arm with duckhead mount/demount tool, 10-21-inch diameter and 10-inch width, built-in bead-sealing jets, inflation gauge, and wheel protection
2. Heavy-Duty:
  • HIT Series: Swing-arm hydraulic controls, motor support tube, and tubeless tires that have 15-38-inch diameters and two-direction movement
  • CHD Series: Hydraulic tool arm, 14-45-inch diameter, extension capability up to 56 inches
3. Motorcycle and ATV:
  • RC Series: Comes with a Robo-Arm device. Their bead loosening supports wide and narrow diameters, they have pressure control on the rim clamp, and inflation jets ensure proper air inflation.
4. Special Wheel and Tire:
  • APX: Robotic arm device for extra-large and high-end tire and wheel combinations, table-top mount clamping capability of 9-30-inch diameter, duckhead roller, built-in wheel lift, and foot pedals
  • 4070 Center Post: Supports 10-18-inch diameter, forward and reverse operation
What types of balancers does Coats manufacture?

Balancing is a critical step that should be included with the tire change. Balancing keeps vibration down and provides safer handling by making sure the weight is evenly distributed. It allows for even more tread wear. Weights can be added if the tires are somewhat out of balance.

Coats offers wheel-balancing equipment in the same four categories and with the same focus as their tire changers.

Which Coats changer and balancer is needed?

The shop type determines which is the most practical choice of machine for your needs. Coats swing arm model for cars, for example, is a logical multi-purpose choice that will service the majority of situations if youre operating a general repair shop. Once youve decided on the appropriate model of tire changer, the corresponding balancer decision will follow suit.
