The unforeseen can sometimes happen to the monitor of your HP ENVY and it needs to be replaced. You can always purchase a separate 17.3-inch (measured diagonally) monitor for your device, and use your laptop once again. The displays have a touch digitizer that is built into the LCD screen.

The digitizer is a part of the LCD monitor. The LCD monitor is a fine computer panel that shows all the processes going on in your device. The touch screen digitizer lets you convert analog signals from your fingers to digital signals that the device can understand. The thin piece of glass or digitizer that covers the LCD display allows you to touch, tap, and swipe on the monitor to control the device functions. The digitizer flex cable attaches the front glass digitizer to the actual display component.

The touch digitizer can be purchased separately from the 17.3 inch LCD monitor. The two can also be purchased together in an already assembled composition.

The aspect ratio is the relationship between the height and width of a monitor. The formula by which it is shown is width:height. The two most common aspect ratios of HP ENVY are:

• 16:9

The resolution of the LCD is the sharpness of the image shown. The resolution is measured in pixels, which are tiny dots of color picture elements. The resolution is given in width pixels by height pixels. The higher the value, the higher the resolution. This means that the image shown on the monitor will be with increased in detail and more sharpness. Some resolutions fall under the HD (High Definition) category with higher pixel values.

Turn off the monitor/device prior to cleaning. Use a dry cloth without pressing too hard on the monitor. Use a microfiber or a cotton fabric to clean, and avoid abrasive fabrics like paper towels. Spray a designated spray solution on the fabric to clean out anything sticky from the surface that cannot be removed with a dry cloth. Do not spray directly on the monitor, and use only a specialized cleaning solution. Wipe off any moisture that is left after cleaning. Allow the device to air dry, and power on only after the surface of the monitor is completely dry.
